BIOSKETCH
Dr. Avashri Harrichandparsad is a Public Health Medicine Specialist in the Department of Public Health Medicine. Her research portfolio includes 8 years of clinical trial experience at the HIV Prevention Research Unit of the Medical Research Council focusing on interventions designed specifically to empower women. She fulfilled the roles of Clinician and Principal Investigator and was involved in phase I, II, and III studies. Her research interests also include healthcare quality and health systems strengthening. She has broad experience of the healthcare system having worked at facility, district and provincial levels in the KZN DOH. She has most recently served as Acting Senior Manager of Medical Services at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital.
